Story of Vanquish.

Vanquish Yachts was established in 2012 by a man on a mission. Tom Steentjes is a Dutchman with a love for smart technology and making things happen. A master welder by trade, he set up a very successful firm building custom equipment for the fast food industry in his late teens and had sold the company by the time he hit 30.

You can read more about Tom’s thinking in this interview here.

Combining a rich understanding of process efficiency with a desire to push the window of innovation and exceptional skills in aluminium, the first VQ32 was launched to popular acclaim in 2013. This was followed by a string of different models, all developed with clients who share Tom’s attitude that nothing is impossible and no two boats should be the same.

Early highlights included a VQ32 built for the Dutch lakes, a VQ43 created for a client in Ibiza, two hard-top versions of a VQ50 for an owner looking to go boating on even the hottest Mediterranean days, and another VQ50 for a client in Mexico. The first VQ48 made a serious splash when given its public debut in St Tropez in 2016, confirming that the Vanquish brand was now firmly established in the minds of those seeking a fresh approach to powerboating.

Sales accelerated rapidly from this point on and Vanquish Yachts continues to raise the bar with new ideas. The Vanqraft 16 is redefining how people see the water scooter market. Similar success is expected with concepts such as the VQ46 Dual Console, developed with the American market in mind but already becoming popular in Europe with inboard engines, the VQ60, the VQ75 and – our first entry into the superyacht world – the VQ90. The yard works with various renowned design and naval architecture partners to ensure that every new development adds new élan to the Vanquish fleet.

Today the company is reaping the rewards of its investments in boats and brand recognition. Annual orders are well into double figures and run the gamut of different sizes and types. All these Vanquish boats accommodate very specific requests and have very specific features & facilities on board. That, after all, is at the heart of our promise.
